Air conditioning is not so common, and the public transportation system is often struggling. In all European households, less than 5% of households have air-conditioning installed, and public transportation may be suspended during the heat. The airplane cannot take off safely under the extreme high temperature conditions that affect the operation of the engine. When the temperature is too high, the speed of the train will also decrease. Roads and highways will bend as the concrete expands. According to CNN, a train from Belgium to London failed at the end of July. Air-conditioning was not installed in the train, and passengers were trapped in a high temperature of 40°C. The official responsible for operating the British railway infrastructure said that the railway temperature in and around London will exceed 50°C, almost twice the average temperature of the British summer railway. Railroad tracks expand when heated, and tend to bend when the temperature rises. Therefore, in the heat wave, many European railway lines will be temporarily suspended to ensure travel safety.

The agriculture that human society relies on is becoming more and more susceptible to extreme high temperatures, which can destroy crops in a season and kill livestock. A 2016 study published in the journal Nature showed that between 1964 and 2007, global warming led to a 20% reduction in crop production. Moreover, even if crops can survive high temperatures, humans will increasingly be unable to farm safely in the fields.
